About The Old Rectory, Wrestlingworth
4 acre garden full of colour and interest. The owner has a free style of gardening sensitive to wildlife. Beds overflowing with tulips, alliums, bearded iris, peonies, poppies, geraniums and much more. Beautiful mature trees and many more planted in the last 30 years. Inc a large selection of betulas. Gravel gardens, box hedging and clipped balls, woodland garden and wild flower meadows.
This is a garden with many interesting features. Beautiful large old trees planted by the original Rector who apparently travelled widely collecting species, hence the ancient mulberry tree. It was extended by the present owner and now has many herbaceous borders planted with hundreds of tulips and alliums every year, making a wonderful show in late Spring when the garden is open. It has wild flower meadows and a natural pond. The open vistas and overflowing beds make for a relaxed natural feel while many box hedges and clipped balls give it structure. There are also extensive gravel gardens and a new sun terrace where the old swimming pool used to be. A beautiful natural organic garden full of colour and wildlife.
There will be some changes to the beds and design this year.
