This one is in our regular rotation. We add more beef and serve over rice with extra soy sauce and peanuts. And of course, srirachi. DH puts it on all my food. Hmmm.

Delicious- the whole family loved it even those who don't like cabbage. I topped with a touch of soy, sirachi and avocado.

Very good, interesting and easy dish. I've made this 3 or 4 times and my wife and kids loved it the first few times but the last time they weren't crazy about it. I'm assuming I messed something up in the recipe.

Was very nice, easy, cheap, good potential potluck dish. Made with a small onion instead of shallots. Used only one tablespoon of peanut oil. Used 6 oz of ground beef since that's what I had to use up. Needed more red pepper and turmeric for my spicy palate. Solid meal.

I first followed the recipe and at first bite we weren't impressed. But after a couple of bites it was interesting. I made it again but this time I added minced garlic, chopped red pepper, left out the ground red pepper and added some bottled garlic Hoison sauce. With these changes both my husband and I loved it. There were no leftovers. Made it 2 days in a row and could eat it again. I loved that it was mostly veggies with little meat. Very fast and easy recipe.

This was simple but wonderfully flavorful, with great balance. It is a recipe, I think, that requires you to actually use the ingredients called for to get the intended flavor. Normally, oils can be changed and meat can be downgraded without too much suffering. But I think things like the peanut oil and the sirloin (not just ground beef), and the shallots (not just onions), make all the difference. I did add extra sirloin since it's what I had thawed out but also added extra shallots. I also happened to have fresh turmeric so I added that in addition to the dry. If you like things spicy, add your pepper flakes to the oil as it heats up.

This is a great recipe for cabbage. Used red cabbage for more nutrition. I have made this twice already, did not have fresh tomato the second time, so I used diced can tomato and it was fine. 1 tsp of ground Cumin made this taste even better. I like it without peanuts.

Very good. I didn't add the peanuts and didn't miss them at all. My husband loved it and said he will eat the leftovers on a toasted roll tomorrow.

We enjoyed this. Since I put in a lot more beef (almost a pound), I added some peanut butter and hot sauce to have more flavoring.

I love this dish! I got cabbage in my organic box delivery today and this was one of the first search results that came up. It sounded delicious, and most importantly - easy for a weeknight. It's definitely both of those things. I did make some changes, but I'm sure it would be just as awesome exactly as written. I used 3/4 lb. thinly sliced sirloin steak instead of ground beef, and only 1/8 tsp red pepper because. Also, I only had to cook it for 10 minutes with the lid on. The second 10 minutes would have way overcooked the cabbage. Everything else was exactly the same and it was amazing. I completely agree with themaddane's review that it grows on you bite after bite. I will definitely make this again.

Delicious! I doubled the recipe (and quadrupled the meat) and it served 4 as the main course. I also substituted bison for the ground sirloin. I will definitely be making this again. Very hearty and warm.

Delicious and flavorful with some nice spicy heat. I substituted a couple ingredients because I had those on hand and they needed to be used. I substituted ground venison for the ground beef; cherry tomatoes for the plum tomato and a red onion for the shallots but I think these were very minor substitutions and still added a lot of flavor to the dish.

So easy and good! I increased the beef for my husband and reduced the red pepper for me. I didn't think my green vegetable-phobic husband would even like this, but he had seconds.

My husband really liked this. I thought it was good (though strongly peanutty and very earthy in flavor). It's easy--especially since I used a bag of shredded cabbage and cole slaw mix. It really only serves two (although it says it yields four servings). I would make this again.

An unusual, simple, and tasty recipe. My only change was reducing the red pepper to 1/4 teaspoon.

Super simple, very fast, and extremely flavorful. I'm going to increase the beef next time for my husband, but the dish doesn't need more meat. Going to reduce the red pepper to 1/4 teaspoon next time too. Just a tiny bit too hot. Will definitely be making this again.

Amazing taste. Amazing texture. It's got one of those addictive qualities that make it hard to stop at just one serving. Didn't change a thing. Make sure to use unsalted peanuts or it will be a little on the salty side. Will be adding it to our regular rotation.

Easy and Excellent flavor. Used leftover ham instead of beef. Do not leave out the peanuts. Really added to the flavor and gave it some crunch.

This was outstanding. I went the American way and added a bit more ground beef (1/3 of a pound instead of 1/4). It was very good. I also added the peanuts which earlier posters left out - it adds a lot. I also used cracked ground red pepper flakes instead of ground red pepper - still worked. I will definitely make this again.

Good, quick & easy. Used leftover steak & pre-shredded cabbage. Forgot the peanuts, but they would have been good. Will make again.

My husband and I loved this and it was a fairly easy recipe to make. Next time I'll use less salt since we both thought it was a little too salty. We didn't have the peanuts but it was good without them; although next time I'm going to use them. Served it with a tossed green salad but a fruit salad would help lower the heat since this is pretty spicey!

This was really tasty! My husband loved it. I'm vegan, so I cooked the meat separately for my husband and put it on top of his serving; I added seitan to mine. Super easy too! A definite make again recipe.
