Why collect alligator eggs? ›

Alligator meat is the meat from alligators that is for consumption. It has been used both historically and in contemporary times in various cuisines of the Southern United States. Alligator eggs can also be consumed. Alligator meat is high in protein and low in fat, and has a mild flavor and firm texture.

At first, the eggs are hard like chicken eggs. This is because the egg has two layers. The outer layer is hard, but the inner layer is soft like leather. As the alligator grows in the egg, the hard outer layer gets thinner and thinner.

Where is the best place to hunt gators in RDR2? ›

You can specifically find alligators in the waters and on the banks of Bayou Nwa just northwest of Saint Denis. Follow the water's edge to spot these beasts. They may also be found along the coast east of Braithwaite Manor.

Alligators live in the swamp and river delta regions of Lemoyne - in southern Bluewater Marsh and all around Bayou Nwa.
