  • Red Onion Diced
  • Garlic Minced
  • Pancetta Diced
  • Italian Seasoned Bread Crumbs
  • White Cheddar Shredded

Can I Use Frozen Brussel Sprouts?

While I am huge fan of frozen vegetables in many dishes, this is not one of them. For this recipe to be quick and easy, fresh brussel sprouts should be used.

What If I Can't Find Pancetta?

Pancetta is an Italian meat that is basically salt cured pork belly with spices. At times it can be hard to find pancetta at your local store, if this is the case for you just substitute your favorite bacon.

Storing & Reheating?

Once cooked you can store any leftovers in a glass container for about 4 days in the refrigerator. This dish does re-heat very well in a pan or in the oven for a few minutes until warm.

The Cozy Details

Step 1: Gather your ingredients.

Step 2: Clean and chop your brussel sprouts if needed. Slice and dice the onion, garlic and pancetta. Shred the cheese.

Step 3: Heat the pan over medium and add in the pancetta and onion. Cook until the pancetta is crisp for about 7-8 minutes. Remove the pancetta from the pan, but leave in any of the oils from the pancetta.

Step 4: Drizzle in 2 tablespoon olive oil and add in the brussel sprouts and garlic. Toss and stir together to coat the sprouts and onion with the oils.

Step 5: Cook over medium heat with a lid on until the brussel sprouts are soften a bit. About 10 minutes. Stir Occasionally.

Step 6: Add in the bread crumbs, remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil and cheese and allow to cook for another 5 minutes. Place the lid on the pan to melt the cheese if need be.

Step 7: Remove from the heat and serve warm!

This dish works great as a side with roast chicken or as a main dish and pair with roasted strawberry and honey ice cream for dessert!

  • ½ Red Onion Chopped
  • 1 Garlic Clove Minced
  • 1 Cup Shredded White Cheddar
  • 4 OZ Diced Pancetta
  • ¼ Cup Italian Seasoned Breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • Salt and Pepper
