I will now tell you about one of my all-time favorite drinks, the Blueberry Mojito. It’s cool, refreshing, and has just the right mix of sweet and tangy flavors. Made with fresh blueberries, mint, lime, sugar, rum, and a splash of soda, it’s a colorful twist on the classic Mojito. Trust me, once you try it, you’ll want to sip on it all day long!
Tasting Notes
The Blueberry Mojito is a treat for your taste buds. You’ll first notice the sweet and juicy flavor of blueberries, followed by the zesty kick of lime. The mint adds a fresh, cool touch, making every sip incredibly refreshing. The rum brings it all together with a smooth, slightly sweet note that balances perfectly with the soda’s fizz. It’s a delightful mix of flavors that dance on your tongue!
Equipment and Glassware
To make a Blueberry Mojito, you’ll need a few simple tools:
- A muddler to mash the blueberries and mint, releasing their flavors.
- A co*cktail shaker to mix everything together with ice, making it nice and cold.
- A strainer (if your shaker doesn’t have one) to keep the bits out of your glass.
- A tall glass, often called a highball glass, to serve your delicious creation.
Ingredients
- 2 oz white rum
- 10 fresh blueberries (extra for garnish)
- 10 mint leaves (extra for garnish)
- 1 lime (half juiced, half cut into wedges)
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- Soda water, to top off
Instructions
- In your glass, muddle 5 the blueberries, 5 mint leaves, sugar, and lime juice. This means squishing them together to release their flavors.
- Fill the glass halfway with ice cubes.
- Pour the rum over the ice.
- Fill the rest of the glass with soda water.
- Stir everything together gently.
- Garnish with extra blueberries, mint spring, and a lime wedge.
Pro Tips
- Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Fresh blueberries, mint, and lime make a big difference.
- Adjust the sweetness to your taste. Add more or less sugar as you like.
- If you want a stronger mint flavor, slap the mint leaves between your hands before adding them to the glass. This releases their oils.
When to Serve
The Blueberry Mojito is perfect for almost any occasion. It’s a hit at summer parties, BBQs, or just a relaxing day at home. It’s also a fantastic choice for celebrations or when you want to impress your friends with your bartending skills. Anytime you crave something refreshing and delicious, this is your go-to drink.
Which Liquor Brands to Choose
For your Blueberry Mojito, a great quality white rum is key. Brands like Bacardi, Havana Club, or Captain Morgan White Rum are excellent choices. They have a smooth, clean taste that complements the fresh flavors of the drink.

History
The Mojito comes from Cuba, and its exact origins are a bit of a mystery. Some say it was invented by sailors, others believe it was created as a medicinal drink. The Blueberry Mojito is a modern take on this classic, adding blueberries for a fresh, fruity twist.
